Big Family Photoshoot in Fukuoka | How to Get Perfect Photos on a Cloudy Day

Getting a big family together for a photoshoot is always a fun adventure, full of laughter and beautiful chaos. For this September session, I got to hang out with two wonderful couples and their four energetic kids.

Just as we were about to start, the rain stopped and left us with a perfectly cloudy sky. A lot of people worry when the sun goes away, but photographers know that clouds actually act like a massive natural softbox. The soft, even light was absolutely beautiful. Best of all, the kids didn’t have to squint against harsh sunlight. It really brought out rich, deep colors and a cozy vibe that completely fit the mood of this big family story.
